Okay LM002 was not a SUV as per se but a SUT. Lamborghini made LM002 from 1986 to 1993. But that were different times, now popularity of SUV’s is all time high. Major automakers are letting go their brand identity and getting into this lucrative suv segment. From Jaguar, Porsche, Bentley, Rolls-Royace and even Ferrari is getting into it.
Lets talks a little more about Lamborghini Urus
The Lamborghini Urus first started life as a concept SUV model designed by Lamborghini and unveiled at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show on 23 April 2012. The name comes from the Urus, the ancestor of modern domestic cattle, also known as the Aurochs.
The Lamborghini Urus will be much lighter than most SUVs due to the extensive usage of carbon fiber reinforced polymer. Although it is still based on the same family platform of Volkswagen as the Audi Q7, Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne, and Volkswagen Touareg.
The Urus will feature a 4-litre, 650 horsepower twin-turbo V8 engine and it will be exclusive to Lamborghini as per the company. And there may be a plug-in hybrid version also as a choice. The engine will seat in front with all-wheel-drive layout.
The Urus will be world’s fastest production SUV, with a top speed of 205 mph (328 km/h) beating the Bentley Bentayga’s 187 mph (301 km/h). But it will not be fast alone but will come with super off-roading also.
