What this beast is all about
The Vantage is Aston’s oldest model, at a scarcely believable 12 years old. And would say it aged admirably. So the new 2018 Vantage has its task cut out crafting a new entry-level Aston sport-car that can keep up with competition but also with reputation of the name ‘VANTAGE”. Let take a look what we know.
The Vantage Style
The Aston Martin Vantage 2018 is roughly based on DB10. DB10 was one off model that was created for especially for the Last James Bond movie “Spectre”. The model was so popular that the company had to make some thing inspired by DB10. So here Comes the Vantage. The official spy-shots reveal much of the proportion and detail of the newcomer. The Vantage doesn’t look to be as wide or angular as the DB10 and has a more rounded style. The new sports car has thin LED headlights, a short overhang at either end of the car and “shark-nose style grille” similar to DB10.
The AMG HEART
In the center (front) will 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 heart supplied by Aston Martin partner AMG . The V12 will be saved for maybe later. The V8 version will produce around 500bhp in the entry-level car and 550bhp in the Vantage S.
And the Vantage will, thankfully, still offer a manual gearbox option for those who prefer to Stick shift rather than let the twin-clutch transmission take the strain. As Andy Palmer, Aston Martin’s chief executive, told Car & Driver that the company would continue to produce manual gearboxes despite the industry’s preference for automatic systems.
“I would love to be the last car manufacturer providing stick shifts”, he said. “It’s only a matter of breaking it into its parts, and that’s where I started my career, as a transmission engineer.”
Expect to see a manual gearbox option on the Vantage. For those looking for a simpler driving experience, an automatic version is also tipped to appear. Beside that sports car will also get its own suspension setup, which should reduce body roll and improve stiffness over the outgoing model.
The Price Tag.
I would say beauty is always invaluable but making some one beautiful does take some expenses. So we expect it cost between £70,000 and £90,000 to take on its key competitors the Porsche 911, Jaguar F-Type and Mercedes AMG GT.
That all for now. But I will keep you updated ,stay tuned .
